Posters in Toilets

After discussion and negotiation with our local authority and local maintenance contractors, Soroptimist International Poole and the Purple Teardrop Campaign are using International Women’s Day 2014 to launch and celebrate the installation of PTC anti-trafficking posters and “help me” helpline stickers into all the public toilets in the Borough of Poole.

We used the earlier work of SI Garstang and SI Paisley as our model and are delighted to have been so successful. We feel strongly that if our efforts result in even one trafficked woman being rescued then the action has been totally worthwhile. With their permission and advice we have developed Guidelines to help all Soroptimist International clubs and other interested organisations get anti-trafficking posters and cubicle “help me” stickers into local authority public toilets. You will find an overview and 7 steps to success on Page 1 and subsequently useful supporting information from SI Garstang and SI Paisley in their stories.

We hope you will at some time consider taking this action – wouldn’t it be great to have awareness raising posters and helpline stickers in every public toilet in the UK!
