Be Aware of Advertising indicative of Human Trafficking

During a recent holiday abroad, one of our campaign members spotted an advertisement promising ‘new girls every week.’ The advertisement was on a tourist map being distributed by tour operator representatives. This type of advertising is indicative of human trafficking. If you come across similar advertising, please report it to your tour operator, the local tourist board and to ABTA who are very supportive of our work and wrote:

‘ABTA and its members takes the issue of sexual exploitation and children extremely seriously and it is of great concern to hear of adverts of this nature appearing in mainstream media in destinations … I will bring your specific issue to the attention of our members, in particular asking for the in-resort staff to report such advertisements on collateral being handed out in resorts.’
