We’re all set for 2018!

The Purple Teardrop Campaign’s Christmas tree at St Aldhelm’s Church Christmas Tree Festival in Poole is not only very beautiful but very reflective and sets the tone for our charity’s work for 2018.

As does this photo that shows volunteers Pauline and Liz in action at Wimborne Minster in Dorset where Purple Teardrop Campaign team members and Poole Soroptimists welcomed guests to the Christmas fund-raising concert by the Broadstone Community Band. The event was amazing in its own right and a fantastic fund-raiser and awareness-raiser.

All of us at the Purple Teardrop Campaign are all set and ready for another year of action against human trafficking and for victim support and we look forward to working with our amazing network of supporters, we couldn’t do it without you, thank you!

Poole and Sheffield Soroptimists Support Snowdrop Project’s 5th Anniversary Event

Representatives from the  Sheffield and Poole Soroptimist branches met up at the Snowdrop Project‘s 5th Anniversary Fund Raising Dinner at the prestigious Millennium Galleries in Sheffield on 18th May.

The Dinner marked 5 years of the Snowdrop Project’s work in Sheffield supporting human trafficking survivors once their initial 45 days of government funded care comes to an end. Lara Bundock, Founder and CEO, told guests of her determination and ambition to get the project off the ground so as to provide much needed support.

Speakers included Kevin Hyland, Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner and a representative from the Co-op which has partnered with City Hearts to provide paid work placements and employment for survivors via its Brighter Future Programme.

Lou, survivor turned volunteer, received a standing ovation for her poem, and the whole evening raised £5000 for the charity.

Sheffield Soroptimists are partnering the Purple Teardrop Campaign, founded by Poole Soroptimists, in a 3 year funding project for Snowdrop.
