Nottingham Soroptimists at Unchosen Event

Nottingham Soroptimists were at Unchosen’s Road Show ‘Make Nottingham a Traffick-Free Zone’ at Nottingham Contemporary Gallery. The event was organised by Nottingham University Human Rights Law Centre in partnership with Unchosen who showed three short films entered for their 2013 film competition. These covered forced labour in a cannabis factory, trafficking for sex and trafficked children being used for criminal activities. The event rounded off with a Q&A session.

Exhibitors were Amnesty International Nottingham, Anti Slavery Nottingham, Nottingham Refugee Forum including the Women’s Culture Exchange and Soroptimist International Nottingham who raised awareness amongst exhibitors and attendees about their work with the Purple Teardrop Campaign and Modern Day Slavery. Nottingham Soroptimists gave out Purple Teardrop Campaign leaflets, sold purple teardrop pin badges and collected lobby signatures.

Thank you Soroptimist International Nottingham and Unchosen!
