Thomas Fowell Buxton, also known as the ‘Dorset Wilberforce’, was the MP for Weymouth in the early nineteenth century. He worked tirelessly for the abolition of slavery and to commemorate his achievements, the Thomas Fowell Buxton Society is asking members of the public to sponsor the stones that will make up a monument to him.
