Anti Slavery Day 18 October 2017

The Salvation Army needs more volunteer drivers – can you help?

Volunteer drivers are essential for transporting victims safely to Salvation Army contracted safe-houses around the country. For more information on this important  network, take a look at our guide and to sign-up complete and send off  this application form.

Can you spare any pre-loved bras?

The Purple Teardrop Campaign needs your pre-loved bras! We collect, pack and ship them to Free the Girls, the charity that provides the bras to women rescued from human trafficking so they can set themselves up in business. By selling your pre-loved bras, these women have a sustainable business and minimises their risk of being re-trafficked.

So, this October, we’re asking you to take 10 to sort out your pre-loved bras and post them to us at:

Ban traffickers’ sex for sale adverts

Our lobby is calling for sex for sale adverts to be banned. How is it that our modern society allows human traffickers to market the services of exploited women and girls? If you agree these adverts must stop, sign our lobby here.

Help Me! Stickers

We developed Purple Teardrop Campaign Help Me! stickers as a lifeline to trafficked victims. The stickers are postcard sized and give trafficked victims phone numbers to call for help.

Soroptimists in various parts of the country have worked with their local authorities to get the stickers into public toilets.

So for this year’s Anti Slavery Day we’re calling on Soroptimists throughout the country to get Help Me! stickers in public toilets in towns, hospitals, shops, service stations and trains. Download our guidelines on how to work with your local authority and order your A6 Help Me! cubicle stickers. We make a small charge for the stickers to cover production costs and postage.

Loves Me/Loves Me Not Bookmarks and Cards

And of equal importance is the prevention of grooming. Traffickers groom young people with the sole objective of trafficking them into sexual exploitation. Help stop it. Get the message out using our Loves Me/Loves Me Not Bookmarks and Cards produced with the kind permission of Yorkshire Soroptimists. Again, we make a small charge for the bookmarks and cards so that we can fund printing more. Order here.
